SAEDNEWS: Alireza Tabesh recounts a story of the late Kamal Kharazi’s people-centered character, highlighted by the presence of a city bus driver at his funeral—showing the deep respect he inspired among ordinary people.
According to the political news service of Saed News Agency, Alireza Tabesh, a cultural activist, wrote:
“Today, Friday, I was among the large crowd attending Dr. Kharrazi’s funeral. I was standing in the section of the martyrs of the imposed war at Behesht-e Zahra Cemetery, next to grieving families, at the burial ceremony of the body of Martyr Seyed Kamal Kharrazi.
A woman passing by asked me, ‘Whose funeral is this?’ I said, ‘Dr. Kamal Kharrazi.’ A man standing next to me heard our conversation, turned to me and said, ‘I am a retired employee of Tehran’s public bus company. I have come to attend the funeral of Martyr Kharrazi.’
I asked him how he knew him. He said: ‘A few years ago, I was once driving a bus at Haft-e Tir station when I saw the escort vehicle of an official hit the bus. I got off to see what had happened and was talking with the driver of that car when I saw that from another vehicle, Dr. Seyed Kamal Kharrazi got out and personally apologized to me for the incident.’
The man became emotional and said: ‘Dr. Kharrazi was the Foreign Minister, but he was attentive enough to apologize to me for that incident. Today I came to his funeral because of his politeness,’ and he began to cry.”
