In such situations, a trip to Khour Waterfall on the Chalous Road is one of the best ways to escape into nature and recharge your energy for continuing work and life.

Khour Waterfall is located at the beginning of the Chalous Road and is about 50 meters high. It is a four-season waterfall, offering unique beauty throughout the year.
In autumn, the area turns into a celebration of colors, while in winter, sparkling ice formations create a magical view for visitors.

In spring, the surrounding trees and plants bloom with colorful flowers. In summer, the lush greenery and cool air make Khour Waterfall one of the best destinations to escape the heat.
The waterfall is located about 17 kilometers from Karaj. After reaching Khour village, visitors must walk for about 30 minutes to reach the waterfall.
At the end of the trail, you will find orchards full of apples, wild plums, apricots, cherries, and sour cherries. Along the way, there are smaller waterfalls such as Abkaman Waterfall, rivers, springs, and lush vegetation.
Khour Waterfall is located in Khour village on the Chalous Road, about 17 km from Karaj. The village lies on the western slope of Gandomchal Peak (Pahneh Hesaar / Poshteh Band), one of the central peaks of Alborz Province.

The waterfall is actually hidden between the Chalous Road and the Soleghan Road. It is bordered by:
North: Shahrak
West: Chalous Road and Khour village
East: Soleghan Road and Sangan village
South: Vardavard area
There are several villages named “Khour” in Iran, so it is important not to confuse them. For example, Khour village in Hashtgerd (also known as Khour town) is another attraction near Karaj. There are also villages named Khour in Isfahan and Khusf (South Khorasan).

The best way to reach Khour Waterfall is by private car via the Chalous Road. Off-road vehicles are recommended, but regular cars can also reach the area.
About 3 km before Amir Kabir Dam (Karaj Dam), you should turn onto the Khuzankola side road. The last 3 km of the route is a dirt road with a steep slope.

Because of difficult road conditions, it is essential to check weather and road status before traveling. At the end of the road, you must park your car in the village and continue on foot to the waterfall.

From Chalous: about 150 km (around 2 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions)
Some believe “Khour” comes from “Khorshid” (sun), while others say it refers to the area’s pleasant climate. The village was previously known as “Khordad” or “good village,” which over time became “Khour.”

The best time to visit Khour Waterfall is from mid-spring to late summer, especially in May, when the waterfall is at its most powerful and the region is lush and green.
Autumn and winter are less suitable for hiking, unless you plan to enjoy snow activities such as skiing at Khour Ski Resort. However, road closures due to snow are common, so checking conditions before departure is essential.

Located in Orangheh village, this is one of the most beautiful areas near Chalous Road. The route includes small waterfalls and a 30-minute riverside hike.

Another scenic waterfall along the same route, surrounded by willow, hawthorn, and wild fruit trees.
Nearby attractions include traditional restaurants and historical sites such as Orangheh village and its old cemetery.
