Poll: Majority of Americans Believe War With Iran Linked to Epstein Scandal Distraction

According to SAEDNEWS, According to the poll, conducted jointly by the U.S. think tank Data for Progress and the newsletter Zeteo, 52 percent of respondents said they believe the conflict with Iran is being used to shift public focus away from Trump’s alleged connections to the case involving Jeffrey Epstein, the late financier who was accused of running a major sex‑trafficking network.

The survey was conducted among 1,272 Americans and revealed significant differences in opinion across political groups.

Among Democratic voters, 81 percent said they believe the war is intended to distract from the Epstein case. Independent voters showed similar skepticism, with 52 percent supporting that view.

Even among Republican voters aligned with Trump’s party, 26 percent said they believe the conflict may be linked to efforts to deflect attention from the scandal.

The poll also found that younger Americans are particularly skeptical. About two‑thirds of respondents under the age of 45 said they agree with the claim that the war is being used as a diversion.

In addition, 55 percent of respondents said they do not support the war against Iran, a finding that aligns with results from other recent surveys indicating limited public support for the conflict.
