SAEDNEWS: Iran’s chief negotiator tells Donald Trump: “If you fight, we fight; if you act with logic, we respond with logic, and we will not submit to any threat”

Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf’s forceful response to Donald Trump: “If the Americans test our resolve again, we will give them an even greater lesson.”

According to the political desk of the Saednews news agency, citing ISNA, Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, spoke to reporters upon returning from his trip to Pakistan and commented on the Islamabad talks.

He thanked the Iranian people, saying their prayers and their response to the Leader’s message—along with their stronger public presence—helped the negotiations.

He said the Supreme Leader had also emphasized that this public support strengthened Iran’s position in defending the nation’s rights, and that it also influenced the other side by improving their understanding of Iran’s revolution. He added that he personally witnessed this impact.

Ghalibaf stressed that continued public presence is necessary to reinforce what he called “assertive diplomacy.” He described the negotiations as intensive, serious, and challenging, saying the Iranian delegation—supported by capable experts—used a comprehensive and coordinated approach and introduced initiatives to demonstrate Iran’s goodwill, which helped advance the talks.

He reiterated that Iran does not trust the United States, stating that there is a 77-year “wall of distrust.” He claimed the U.S. has attacked Iran twice in less than a year during negotiations and said it is therefore the U.S. that must earn Iran’s trust. He added that due to past U.S. actions, rebuilding trust is difficult, and it is up to Washington to decide whether it is willing to do so.

Ghalibaf said the Iranian nation is moving rapidly toward success and relies only on God and its own capabilities.

Referring to the composition of Iran’s negotiating team, he described it as a “national delegation” with unity and shared commitment to defending the country’s rights, despite differing viewpoints.

He also thanked the Iranian negotiating and expert teams for conducting more than 20 hours of continuous talks, and praised journalists and analysts for countering what he called enemy psychological operations and conveying Iran’s message to the world.

In response to recent remarks by Donald Trump, he said such threats have no effect on the Iranian people, adding that Iran has repeatedly shown it does not surrender under pressure, having endured military, economic, and political challenges over the past 47 years.

He concluded that if the United States wants a way out of its challenges, it must choose to rebuild trust with Iran. Addressing Washington, he said the U.S. “owes the Iranian nation” and must work to compensate for past actions.

He added that Iran would respond to force with force and to reason with reason, stressing that the country will not accept any threats.
