SAEDNEWS: Iran's Parliament Speaker Says Tehran Is Ready to Negotiate with the U.S., Provided Talks Are 'Sincere and Genuine

See Qalibaf’s Latest Statements: Is Iran Ready for Negotiations?

According to the political section of Saed News, quoting ISNA, amid escalating tensions and rhetoric by U.S. President Donald Trump against the region and threats toward Tehran, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, stated in an interview that Tehran is ready to negotiate with the United States, but only if the talks are “honest and real.”

In an exclusive interview with CNN in Tehran, Ghalibaf said that while Tehran is prepared for negotiations, he does not believe this is “the kind of conversation the U.S. president is seeking; he only wants to impose his will on others.”

The interview comes amid an increase in U.S. forces in the Middle East and Trump’s threats of possible military action against Iran, following unrest that, with Mossad’s backing, claimed the lives of many citizens.

Ghalibaf said that foreign actors are responsible for “a plan entirely designed abroad.”

Promising swift prosecution of those involved, he warned that the government will “never retreat from avenging the blood” of nearly 300 security forces killed during the unrest.

While acknowledging that “there are economic problems inside the country, some of which may be due to mismanagement,” he attributed these challenges to the “oppressive pressures of U.S. sanctions.”

Regarding the buildup of American forces in the region, Ghalibaf warned Washington that any attack on Iran would be met with retaliation, putting thousands of U.S. troops at risk.

He said: “Perhaps Mr. Trump can start a war, but he has no control over how it will end.”
