Iran’s London Embassy Criticizes Trump Following Republican Losses in Midterm Elections

According to Saednews, The Iranian Embassy has advised US President Donald Trump and his administration to read Barbara Tuchman’s The March of Folly, suggesting that the book’s historical lessons may offer a timely warning.

In a statement published on its official X account on Wednesday, the Embassy wrote: “Now is a good time for Trump and his team to read Barbara Tuchman’s The March of Folly,” adding that “perhaps this has given them the hint.”

The post featured a satirical image depicting Trump reading the book, with one hand resting against his forehead and an expression of concern.

First published in 1984, The March of Folly, written by American historian Barbara Tuchman, examines major historical events, from the Trojan War to the Vietnam War. The book explores how political and military leaders have repeatedly pursued decisions despite being aware of their potentially disastrous consequences.

The Iranian Embassy’s message came hours after the announcement of the US midterm election results, in which Republicans suffered a significant setback under Trump’s leadership, while Democrats secured control of both chambers of Congress.

The elections took place amid an illegal war jointly launched by the United States and the Israeli regime against Iran. The economic consequences of the conflict, particularly rising energy prices and increasing pressure on household living costs, have also emerged as major issues in American political debate.
