Fox News Claim: 5–7 Day Timeline for Agreement / Iran and the U.S. Are “95% Close” to a Deal

According to SAEDNEWS, Kayleigh McEnany, posting on the social media platform X, quoted a senior U.S. official as claiming that Iran and the United States are “95%” close to an agreement, but no deal will be signed today or tomorrow.

She further claimed that President Donald Trump has given a “5, 6, or 7 day” deadline to reach a final agreement.

The report adds that some American media outlets, citing parts of a possible agreement, say that indirect talks between Iran and the United States are nearing a deal, although Iranian official sources have not confirmed these reports.

Israeli media outlets are reportedly following these unofficial and unverified reports about a possible Iran–U.S. agreement with concern.

Channel 12 of the Israeli regime claimed that the coming hours are decisive and that the emerging details of the agreement do not appear to be in Israel’s favor.

The Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported growing concern in the occupied territories over emerging understandings between Iran and the United States, and fears of an agreement that does not emphasize Iran’s nuclear disarmament, does not limit its missile program, and does not curb Iran’s regional influence.

The newspaper Maariv stated that Iran’s “victory is near,” and that Tel Aviv must reconsider its calculations, redefine its regional position, and build new alliances.

Other Israeli media outlets also pointed to the “absolute silence” of the Israeli Prime Minister regarding reports of a nearing agreement and criticized this silence.

Gai Gissin, a reporter for the Israeli i24 News channel, said in a live broadcast that ending the conflict in this manner would represent a major defeat for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Channel 13 of Israeli television also stated that if the 60-day ceasefire is extended, it would be completely contrary to what Israel wanted and aimed to achieve.

A U.S. official, repeating Washington’s maximalist demands, claimed that Iran and the United States are “95%” close to a deal.

The Fox News reporter Kayleigh McEnany wrote on X, citing a senior U.S. official, that Iran and the United States are “95%” close to a deal, but no agreement will be signed today or tomorrow.

The U.S. official also claimed that Iran and the United States “have not yet reached the point” of final agreement and that no deal will be signed today or tomorrow.

He further claimed that Trump has given “5, 6, or 7 days” to reach an agreement.

The official also alleged that the Iranians have “essentially agreed to the framework” and that both sides are “95% close” to a deal.

He added that the parties have agreed on issues such as “nuclear stockpiles” and “the Strait of Hormuz,” but are still negotiating wording, emphasizing that “until a deal is finalized, there is no deal.”

Reiterating maximalist demands, he claimed a potential agreement would include a “no dust, no dollar” concept, meaning Iran would have to hand over its uranium stockpiles without receiving financial compensation.

He also repeated threats, stating that the U.S. has “alternative options” and could resume military action if no agreement is reached.
