Iranian Agricultural Scientist Appointed to Editorial Board of International Journal

According to Saednews, Hamed Kioumarsi, a senior researcher at Iran’s Agricultural Research, Education and Extension Organization (AREEO), has been appointed Editor-in-Chief of an international academic journal based in Brazil, focusing on agriculture, environmental challenges, and sustainability.

The appointment marks another step in the growing participation of Iranian researchers in international scientific networks and academic publishing. It comes as global research increasingly focuses on agriculture, food security, climate change, biodiversity, water management, and the sustainable use of natural resources.

The peer-reviewed journal provides a platform for research addressing contemporary challenges in agricultural science and sustainable resource management. In his new editorial role, Kioumarsi will contribute to the journal’s scientific and editorial development, support the peer-review process, promote international collaboration, and help shape its wider academic direction.

The journal also seeks to expand its international visibility and work toward inclusion in major academic indexing databases, including Scopus.

Iran’s diverse climates, ecosystems, and agricultural systems offer important opportunities for research into crop and livestock production, water management, soil conservation, agricultural sustainability, and climate adaptation. Findings from these varied agroecological conditions can contribute to international scientific discussions and comparative research on maintaining agricultural productivity while responding to environmental pressures and using natural resources efficiently.

The international involvement of Iranian scientists can also strengthen knowledge exchange between Iranian research institutions and universities and scientific communities abroad. Such cooperation can facilitate joint research, scientific communication, and the exchange of practical solutions to agricultural challenges.

As agriculture becomes increasingly connected with climate resilience, food security, biodiversity, and natural-resource management, international scientific cooperation remains essential for addressing challenges that cross national boundaries.
