SAEDNEWS: Home Remedies for Removing Milk Odor and Stains from Carpets
According to Saednews family services, when milk is spilled on a carpet, it not only creates an unpleasant appearance but also produces a bad odor. For this reason, it is important to clean it quickly so it does not penetrate deeper into the carpet fibers.
If milk is cleaned immediately after spilling, it usually leaves no trace and does not create a foul smell. However, if it remains on the carpet for a long time, it can cause serious and sometimes irreversible damage. Even if the visible stain is removed after a few days, milk residue may still remain between the carpet fibers, especially in thick carpets, leading to persistent odor.
First, absorb any remaining liquid milk using a towel. Do not rub; simply press the towel onto the stain.
Then mix:
2 cups warm water
1 teaspoon liquid dish soap (without bleach)
Apply the mixture to the stain using a sponge.
Afterward, sprinkle baking soda directly over the area and leave it overnight. In the morning, gently remove it with a brush or your hand, then vacuum the area thoroughly.
After removing excess milk, place a bowl of vinegar near the stained area for a few days to help neutralize odors.
Alternatively, spray vinegar directly onto the stain. After a while, wipe it with a clean cloth or use a steam cleaner.
Once dry, the vinegar smell will also gradually disappear, leaving no bad odor behind.
Sprinkle unused fresh coffee grounds directly onto the stain. Coffee helps absorb and neutralize the milk odor quickly.
Crush fresh lavender flowers and mix them with baking soda. Spread the mixture over the stained area and leave it overnight. Then vacuum the carpet the next day.

Milk contains a mixture of proteins and fats, so it is important to clean it as soon as possible for better results.
Blot the stain with a towel or sponge to absorb moisture.
Then mix:
2 cups warm water
1 cup liquid soap
Apply the solution to the stain and clean it thoroughly.
Pour soda directly onto the milk stain and let it sit for a few minutes. Then wash it using a cleaning solution as described above.
First remove moisture with a towel or sponge, then use carpet shampoo to clean the remaining stain.
Mix:
2 cups warm water
1 tablespoon ammonia
Apply to the stain and then rinse the carpet completely to ensure no ammonia residue remains.
Important Note: The faster you clean milk spills, the higher the chance of completely removing both the stain and the odor.
