SAEDNEWS: The U.S. vice president on Wednesday evening did not rule out the possibility of a renewed military conflict against Iran.
According to the political desk of Saed News Agency, U.S. Vice President James David Vance did not rule out the possibility of renewed military operations against the Islamic Republic of Iran during remarks on Wednesday evening.
Speaking to reporters after delivering a speech at the U.S. Naval Air Station in Virginia Beach, Vance said, "I cannot commit to anything because it obviously depends on what the Iranians ultimately decide to do."
According to The Hill, he explained: "What I can commit to is that the president will not deploy our military again unless it is absolutely necessary and unless there is a clearly defined objective."
The U.S. vice president further claimed: "If additional action becomes necessary, that will depend on Iran’s decisions. If they attempt to rebuild their nuclear program or once again target commercial shipping, it would change our strategic calculations."
Vance also emphasized that the current priority of the U.S. administration is diplomacy, adding: "For now, the president’s message is to negotiate in good faith and pursue diplomatic engagement. That is the authority he has given us."
