SAEDNEWS: Western outlets spreading Khatami’s exit and Rouhani coup rumors are using Trump’s “art of the deal” tactics—psychological operations aimed at delegitimizing the government and weakening national resolve before negotiations.
According to Saed News political service, citing Farhikhtegan, as international pressures on Iran enter a new phase, it appears that Western media think tanks have launched an intense psychological operation aimed at undermining the “strategic minds” and “national cohesion” of Iranian society. A review of conflicting reports over the past 24 hours—from rumors of Seyyed Mohammad Khatami leaving the country to imaginative reports by French media—reveals a single roadmap: instilling a sense of internal collapse.
The false news about the former reformist president leaving the country went beyond mere rumor. Immediately met with official denial, the report was designed to create a sense of “abandonment” and elite flight. The goal was to convey to society that even prominent figures have lost hope in staying and reforming—a project that was effectively neutralized by Khatami’s media presence and vigilance.
Simultaneously, the French newspaper Le Figaro published a report more akin to a Hollywood script, claiming a “failed coup by Rouhani and Zarif” and the transfer of powers from Masoud Pezeshkian to Ali Larijani. This type of “smoky information shot” is explicitly aimed at delegitimizing the public vote and fostering the illusion of dual governance. The intent is clear: portray a government as powerless to weaken the connection between citizens and the ballot box.
These reports are far from coincidental. Looking at Donald Trump’s Art of the Deal doctrine, one sees that “unpredictability” and “exaggerating divisions” are tools to destabilize the opponent. Western media are applying this tactic to depict Iran as being in “absolute weakness” and embroiled in an “internal power struggle,” so that in any potential negotiations, Tehran approaches the table with minimal confidence.
These reports are part of the enemy’s security architecture for “internalizing crises,” blaming domestic disunity for economic deadlocks while exonerating U.S. sanctions. In this battle of narratives, the only defense is relying on governmental cohesion and preventing fake news from clouding the public’s perception.
