SAEDNEWS: An Iranian Official Told Al-Mayadeen That War Against Iran Would Fundamentally Change China and Russia’s Calculations

A Military Attack on Iran Would Spark a Major Catastrophe — China and Russia Would Not Escape the Fallout Either

According to Saed News political service, Al Mayadeen cited a source described as “close to decision-making circles in Iran,” who warned that any war against Iran would set in motion an inevitable collapse of the global order.

The source added that such a conflict would open the door for other powers to exploit the situation to advance their geopolitical agendas.

The Iranian source told Al Mayadeen that the outbreak of such a war would fundamentally alter the strategic calculations of China and Russia. He emphasized that these shifts could drive Moscow and Beijing to take steps to assert new geographical realities in line with their national interests.

The source noted that any military confrontation against Iran would not be confined to its borders but would reshape the entire framework of the international arena.

He further stated that Russian official Witekoff has kept his side in a holding pattern regarding Ukraine, without any practical guarantees or reassuring commitments.

Al Mayadeen reported that Iran, in an official letter to the United Nations and the UN Security Council, warned that in the event of a military attack, “all enemy bases in the region would be considered legitimate targets.” Sent on Friday, the letter reflects Tehran’s clear stance against any potential military action.

Several Western analysts and political figures have also suggested that a full-scale war between the U.S. and Iran would inevitably draw in China and Russia.

Four days ago, former U.S. Army officer Stanislav Krapionik told American journalist Rick Sanchez that “Russia and China cannot allow Iran to fall, because Iran is the gateway to Central Asia, and its collapse would create an existential crisis for both countries.” He stressed that “this could lead to a large regional war and shift Moscow’s and Beijing’s strategic calculations.”

Russian politician Vladimir Zhirinovsky also wrote on his personal X (formerly Twitter) page that “a strike on Iran would directly alter China’s calculations through an energy crisis and Russia’s via northern routes, leading to economic collapse in Europe and weakening of rivals.” He added that China and Russia cannot simply remain spectators.
