Iran’s Ambassador To Moscow: The Americans Are Not Coordinated In The Negotiations

According to SAEDNEWS, Kazem Jalali, Iran’s Ambassador to Russia, said in an interview with the Russian newspaper Kommersant that several proposals have been exchanged, but the reason for their failure is the approach of President Trump.

He stated: “For example, last time we made a proposal, the American negotiating side said they needed a week to review it, but two hours later Trump said no, it is rejected. This shows that they are not coordinated among themselves.”

The Iranian ambassador in Moscow said: “This situation shows that only one person makes decisions in the United States, and that is President Trump; and Trump himself is focused only on victory and prestige, nothing else.”

In response to whether a secret communication channel between Iran and the United States exists beyond Pakistan’s mediation, Jalali said: “No, our messages are exchanged through the Pakistani side, and the proposals Iran has made so far are reasonable.”

He added that if the Americans were seeking an end to the conflict and were willing to engage in negotiations without predetermined outcomes, the talks could succeed.

Jalali said: “The problem with the United States and Trump is that they want to issue instructions. If we were going to accept American dictates, why would we have resisted for five decades? We paid a heavy price for our independence; naturally, we do not accept dictation.”

He further addressed questions about Iran’s nuclear program, saying Iran is not seeking nuclear weapons and that enrichment decisions were based on energy needs, including supplying fuel for Tehran’s research reactor. He added that when Western countries failed to fulfill commitments after the JCPOA, Iran increased enrichment levels as a response.

Regarding Iran’s possible withdrawal from the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), he said no such decision has been taken.

He also stated that public sentiment in Iran remains firm and revolutionary, while emphasizing that Iran’s official position on nuclear weapons has not changed.
