Donald Trump Revealed the Latest Developments in Iran–US Negotiations

According to SAEDNEWS, U.S. President Donald Trump made contradictory remarks on Saturday evening, claiming: “I am going to meet with negotiators on Saturday to discuss Iran’s new proposal.”

Speaking to CBS News, Trump described the chances of an agreement as “fifty-fifty,” while also claiming: “Iran and the United States have become much closer to an agreement, and negotiations are getting better every day.”

While speaking about diplomacy and talks on one hand, he also claimed on the other that he may decide by Sunday on resuming war against Iran.

Earlier, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, during a visit to India, told reporters: “Progress has been made in Iran–US negotiations, and even as I speak with you now, things are happening.”

Meanwhile, Esmaeil Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry and for the negotiating team, stated: “At this stage, the nuclear issue is not being discussed in detail. Our nuclear issue has been used as a pretext for two aggressive wars against the Iranian people. Therefore, responsibly and wisely, we decided that at this stage our priority and focus should be on the issue that is urgent for all of us, namely ending the war.”

The spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry also emphasized that Pakistan is the main mediator in the negotiations, saying: “Of course, other countries including Qatar are also participating, and we thank them as well.”
