You don’t always need toxic chemicals to get rid of ants. There are natural and simple methods to drive them away.
Sometimes, all it takes is a few crumbs or pieces of food spilled on the ground, and if you can’t clean them up right away, you'll soon have an ant invasion. Or, if you don’t store food in sealed containers, you may face the same problem.
Citrus Peels
You can quickly get rid of ants by using citrus peels. Blend the peels and juice together, then spray the mixture in areas where ants are frequently seen.
Vinegar as an Ant Repellent
Most of us have vinegar at home, and it’s an effective natural repellent for ants. The strong scent of vinegar drives them away. To use it, mix equal parts water and white vinegar in a spray bottle. Spray this solution on all the ants' entry points, and repeat for a few days until the ants are gone. It’s best to apply the solution around the lower parts of walls, especially in the kitchen, where ants are likely to appear.
Lemon Water
A mixture of lemon juice and water is also great for eliminating ants. Just mix equal parts of water and lemon juice in a spray bottle, and spray it where the ants are coming through.
Cucumber Peel for Quick Ant Repellent
Ants can’t stand the taste of cucumber, making cucumber peels a simple and effective way to repel them. Peel a cucumber and place the peels in areas where ants are active. Be sure to replace the peels daily until the ants are gone.
Cinnamon for Quick Ant Repellent
Due to its strong scent, cinnamon is an excellent repellent for ants. Mix half a teaspoon of cinnamon with a cup of water and use a cloth to apply it to the areas where ants are present. You can also use mint or black pepper as alternatives to keep ants away.
Water and Dish Soap
A mixture of water and dish soap is another effective way to repel ants. Fill a spray bottle with warm water and a little dish soap, then spray it in areas where ants are frequently seen, continuing this process for several days.
