According to Saednews, Turkey roast is an excellent choice for family gatherings, dinner parties, and special occasions. This flavorful and aromatic dish combines tender turkey with vegetables, herbs, lemon, and prunes to create a satisfying and nutritious meal. Its appealing presentation also makes it a great centerpiece for a festive table.
To prepare this roasted turkey dish, you will need:
1.5–2 kg turkey
5 garlic cloves
2 carrots
1 large onion
2 celery stalks
3 bay leaves
1 lemon
6 pitted cooking prunes
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Paprika, rosemary, and thyme, as desired
3 tablespoons olive oil or butter

Before cooking, prepare all the ingredients. Rinse the turkey thoroughly and pat it dry. Chop the garlic, carrots, onion, and celery into small pieces. Set the bay leaves aside.
Season the turkey generously with salt, black pepper, paprika, rosemary, and thyme. Rub the chopped garlic over the turkey, making sure the seasoning is evenly distributed. This helps enhance both the aroma and flavor of the meat.
Heat the olive oil or butter in a large pan. Add the chopped onion and sauté for several minutes until it becomes soft and translucent. Add the carrots and celery and continue cooking for a few more minutes.
Place the seasoned turkey in a suitable ovenproof dish. Spread the sautéed vegetables around and over the turkey. Add the bay leaves, prunes, and freshly squeezed lemon juice.
Place the dish in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) and cook for approximately 1½–2 hours, or until the turkey is thoroughly cooked and tender. The exact cooking time will depend on the size and cut of the turkey.
Remove the turkey from the oven and allow it to rest for a few minutes before serving. Slice the meat and arrange it on a serving platter.
For a more attractive presentation, serve it with the roasted vegetables and, if desired, fresh herbs or roasted potatoes.

Choose good-quality turkey: Fresh turkey with good-quality meat will produce a more flavorful and tender result.
Adjust the cooking time: Larger pieces of turkey may require additional cooking time. Check that the thickest part of the meat is fully cooked before serving.
Experiment with seasonings: Turmeric, cinnamon, and cardamom can also be added for a warmer and more aromatic flavor.
Serve with a sauce: The dish can be accompanied by tomato sauce, a creamy sauce, or the natural juices collected in the roasting dish.
Allow the meat to rest: Resting the turkey for several minutes after cooking helps retain its juices and makes it easier to slice.
