Germany: Trump Should End War Against Iran, Emphasizes Talks With Tehran

According to Saednews, Lars Klingbeil, Germany’s Deputy Chancellor, has criticized U.S. President Donald Trump’s approach toward Iran, calling for an immediate end to what he described as a “war” and urging serious negotiations with Tehran.

Speaking on Friday, Klingbeil said: “In my view, he thinks this is a matter of one or two days and then everything will be fine. He is now responsible for ensuring that the war against Iran is brought to a swift end.”

He also supported German Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s criticism of Trump’s handling of Iran policy, adding: “We do not need advice from Trump. He should look at the chaos he has created. He must ensure that serious peace negotiations with Iran take place.”

Klingbeil noted that his remarks were made in response to Trump’s recent statements regarding the German federal government and the chancellor.

Earlier this week, Chancellor Merz criticized Washington, saying the United States lacks a clear strategy for exiting the conflict with Iran and that it had been “humiliated” during talks with Tehran.

In response, Trump said Merz “does not know what he is talking about.”
