According to the political news service of Saed News Agency, in continuation of escalating tensions, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced the return of dozens of vessels and the continuation of maritime restrictions on traffic bound for Iranian ports.
According to ILNA, CENTCOM also released an image of a U.S. sailor monitoring a commercial vessel. At the same time, reports indicate that U.S. forces are continuing a maritime blockade of Iranian ports and are preventing the entry and exit of ships.
This comes as CENTCOM also stated on Friday, emphasizing the continuation of this maritime blockade, that 34 ships have so far been diverted—a move assessed as part of increasing Washington pressure on Tehran.
According to the military authority, for the first time in decades, three U.S. aircraft carriers have been simultaneously deployed in the West Asia region: the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72), USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78), and USS George H.W. Bush (CVN-77). Along with their air wings, they include more than 200 aircraft and around 15,000 naval personnel and marines.
