SAEDNEWS: Addressing the Iraqi president, Pezeshkian said: ‘Be cautious of the conspiracies of the United States and the Israeli regime. Attacks on US bases in the region are Iran’s natural response.
According to the political news service of SaedNews, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid held a telephone conversation regarding regional developments following the military aggression by the Israeli regime and the United States against Iran.
In the discussion, President Pezeshkian highlighted the support of the Iranian people for the country’s armed forces and security personnel. He praised the historic and remarkable resistance of Iran’s powerful military and citizens against the inhumane and illegal aggression by American-Israeli adversaries. He also emphasized Iran’s firm determination to continue legitimate and strong self-defense against any act of aggression.
Pezeshkian expressed appreciation for Iraq’s principled stance, the support of its people, and the high authority of Iraqi leadership for Iran, as well as for their condolences on the martyrdom of Iran’s Supreme Leader and other Iranian officials and citizens.
The Iranian president stressed Iran’s right to legitimate self-defense in targeting US bases that serve as launch points for aggression against Iranian territory. He called for vigilance regarding conspiracies by the United States and Israel, which aim to sow discord among Muslim countries through the use of terrorist groups and exploitation of neighboring territories against Iran.
Recalling the principled position of the late Islamic Revolution leader against any nuclear weapons, Pezeshkian expressed hope that regional Muslim countries could advance toward peace and stability without interference from foreign powers and warmongers.
He also condemned the US and Israeli attacks on Iraqi military and security positions and emphasized Iran’s readiness for closer cooperation with Iraq, welcoming a visit from the Iraqi president to Tehran at an appropriate time.
President Rashid, in turn, conveyed Iraq’s condolences following the martyrdom of Ayatollah Khamenei, military commanders, senior officials, and several Iranian citizens in the US-Israeli military attacks, expressing sympathy on behalf of the Iraqi government, people, and parliament to Iran’s leadership, president, government, and nation.
Rashid strongly condemned the aggressive attacks by the United States and Israel against Iran and reaffirmed Iraq’s solidarity with the Iranian national resistance against these acts of aggression. He described the US-Israeli aggression and war against Iran as an action against all Muslim nations and the region, emphasizing Iraq’s principled stance against the war and its refusal to allow third parties to use Iraqi territory in attacks against Iran.
The two presidents also exchanged greetings for the upcoming Eid al-Fitr and Nowruz celebrations. Abdul Latif Rashid conveyed the greetings and salutations of the Iraqi government and people to Iran’s Supreme Leader and its citizens.
