SAEDNEWS: Since Thursday, images of cluster bombs slightly larger than canned food have circulated online; a village south of Shiraz was targeted by these weapons.
According to the political news service of SaedNews, images of cluster bombs—slightly larger than a can of food—began circulating online on Thursday. A village south of Shiraz was targeted by these weapons.
Residents of the village, unaware of the danger, touched some of the mines, resulting in the deaths of six people.
One demining expert stated, “These weapons are banned and should never be used in urban areas.” Foreign journalists visited the site today to inspect the American-made cluster bombs in Shiraz.
Military analyst Abdolreza Sadegh believes these explosive packages are anti-armor mines deployed from U.S. and Israeli cluster bombs, adding that using them in populated areas constitutes a war crime.
Although military and security forces are working to collect the remnants, citizens are urged to keep their distance from suspicious packages, prevent children from approaching, and report the exact location to security and intelligence authorities.
Residents can notify local branches of the Revolutionary Guards, army units, or police to ensure the cluster bombs are safely removed by demining teams.
