SAEDNEWS: The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran was forced to hail a taxi to Tabriz after his official convoy’s fuel tank was filled with suspect gasoline mixed with water at a roadside station in Qazvin Province.

Inside the President’s Unexpected Taxi Ride to Tabriz After Water‑Contaminated Fuel Mix‑Up!

According to Saed News, Mustafa Molavi, Special Inspector to the President, disclosed the incident during a meeting with party leaders and political activists in Qazvin Province. He explained that, just before the Day of Tasua, the President set out for Tabriz with his ground security detail in three vehicles.

According to Saed News, the convoy stopped at a fuel station near the Rasht Highway exit to refuel. Not long after leaving the station, all three vehicles stalled near Takestan. An immediate investigation revealed that the station had been selling poor‑quality petrol adulterated with water and had faced prior complaints for the same violation.

According to Saed News, rather than delay the official schedule by contacting the Governor’s office, the President chose to continue his journey by taxi. A subsequent call to the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company confirmed the station’s history of fuel‑quality infractions.

This episode highlights ongoing concerns over fuel standards at remote filling stations and has prompted renewed calls for tighter oversight of petrol suppliers across the country.
