SAEDNEWS: Iran’s President, Masoud Pezeshkian, has stated that the country will not submit to pressure or intimidation, emphasizing that Iran has the right to defend itself against aggression.
According to SAEDNEWS, In a message posted on his official account on the social media platform X, Pezeshkian referred to his recent conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron. He stressed that Iran did not initiate the current conflict and described the country’s response as a legitimate act of self‑defense.
“I emphasized to President Macron that Iran did not start this brutal war,” Pezeshkian wrote. “Defending against aggression is a natural right, and it is something we know well how to do.”
The Iranian president also criticized the use of American military bases in the region against Iran, saying such actions are intended to damage Tehran’s relationships with neighboring countries and must stop.
According to Pezeshkian, lasting peace and stability in the region cannot be achieved while ignoring what he described as “Zionist‑American aggression” against Iran.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran will not surrender to bullies,” he said. “We expect the international community to condemn this aggression and persuade the aggressors to respect international law.”
Pezeshkian further argued that starting wars based on incorrect information and with expansionist motives is an outdated approach. “Launching wars on the basis of false intelligence and with the aim of territorial expansion is a medieval act in the 21st century,” he stated.
He concluded by saying that discussions about halting aggression are meaningless unless there are guarantees that Iran’s territory will not be attacked again.
The statement highlights Iran’s continued stance that it views its actions as defensive while calling on the international community to respond to what it considers external aggression.
