SAEDNEWS: UN Commission Says Israel Continued Genocide in Gaza After Ceasefire Took Effect
According to Saednews, Israel continued carrying out acts described as genocidal in Gaza even after a US-mediated ceasefire came into effect in October 2025, according to a report released Monday by the United Nations Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East al-Quds, and Israel. The report also highlighted continuing abuses against Palestinian children and an escalating humanitarian and security crisis in the occupied West Bank.
The Israeli government rejected the report’s conclusions, dismissing them as part of a “misinformation campaign” and denying allegations that its conduct constituted genocide.
Covering the period from the beginning of Israel’s military assault on Gaza on October 7, 2023, through September 2026, the report examined violations affecting Palestinian children and the broader impact of Israeli actions across the occupied Palestinian territories.
The commission concluded that Israeli authorities had continued committing “genocidal acts with the genocidal intent to destroy, in whole or in part, the Palestinians in Gaza.” It also documented a continued deterioration in conditions throughout the occupied West Bank.
The latest assessment follows an earlier commission report published in September 2025, which concluded that Israel had committed genocide in Gaza. That report also accused senior Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, of inciting genocidal acts. Israel rejected those allegations at the time, describing them as scandalous.
According to the new findings, Israeli forces continued deploying heavy weapons, drones, quadcopters, artillery and sniper fire in Gaza’s densely populated areas during the ceasefire period. The commission said these operations raised further concerns about the persistence of violence against Palestinians despite the truce.
The report also examined the expanding presence of the so-called “Yellow Line.” Although initially introduced as a temporary boundary under the ceasefire arrangements, the line has increasingly extended into Gaza and appears to be developing into a de facto border. The commission said this trend reflects Israel’s growing territorial control over the besieged territory.
The findings were released as Palestinian authorities reported that Israel’s military campaign in Gaza had killed more than 74,000 people.
The commission also highlighted a significant increase in Palestinian deaths caused by airstrikes in the occupied West Bank. According to its figures, six Palestinians were killed in such attacks between 2008 and October 6, 2023. The number rose to 254 between October 7, 2023, and September 30, 2026.
Commission Chair Srinivasan Muralidhar said the deliberate killing of Palestinian civilians and the destruction of residential properties in the West Bank were components of a wider strategy aimed at eliminating and forcibly displacing Palestinians.
The report further stated that Israeli military operations beginning in January 2025 had triggered the most extensive displacement of Palestinians in the West Bank since 1967. As of August 2026, approximately 34,176 Palestinians remained displaced from their homes.
Separately, the commission raised concerns about the Palestinian Authority’s treatment of Palestinians who voiced opposition or expressed dissenting opinions. It also reported cases in which journalists and human rights defenders had been killed or injured.
The report presents a broader picture of continued violence, displacement and alleged human rights violations across Gaza and the occupied West Bank, despite the ceasefire arrangements and ongoing international scrutiny.
