SAEDNEWS: Iran’s armed forces chief announced that the Strait of Hormuz is completely closed, warning that any vessel violating the restrictions will face consequences. The IRGC and Iranian Army claim full control over the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
According to Saednews, Iran’s Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces has declared that the Strait of Hormuz remains completely closed, warning that any vessel violating Iran’s restrictions will face serious consequences. The statement rejects US claims that the strategic waterway remains open to maritime traffic.
Major General Abdollahi said the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) maintains full control and continuous surveillance over the Persian Gulf coastline, its islands and the Strait of Hormuz. He emphasized that all movements in the area are closely monitored and that the IRGC Navy is responsible for managing the waterway.
During a visit to the coast of the Sea of Oman, Abdollahi also said the Army’s naval and ground forces remain on high alert and maintain full surveillance over the region’s waters and coastal areas. He added that Iranian forces are monitoring all movements by opposing forces and will prevent unauthorized vessels from passing through.
Commanders from both the IRGC Navy and the Iranian Army Navy attended the visits.
Abdollahi warned that any vessel attempting to transit outside designated routes or in violation of Iranian regulations would put its security at risk and could sustain significant damage.
He further stated that Iran’s armed forces across the Persian Gulf, the islands, the Strait of Hormuz and the Sea of Oman coastline are now better prepared than before, equipped with newer and more advanced military systems. He warned that Iranian forces would respond more forcefully than previously to any hostile actions or aggression.
