Saed News: China has claimed that a 3,000-kilometer internet network built by Huawei Technologies and China Mobile, connecting Beijing to southern China, is the world's fastest internet with a speed of 1.2 terabits per second.
According to Saed News, citing ISNA, Tsinghua University announced in a statement that the two companies, in collaboration with Tsinghua University and the research firm Cernet.com, have built the world's first internet network with a stable and reliable bandwidth of 1.2 terabits per second—several times faster than standard internet speeds worldwide. Testing began on July 31, and since then, various experiments have been conducted to validate this technological achievement.
Tsinghua University described this project as the first fully domestically developed technology and highlighted Huawei's prominent role in its statement. In August, the Chinese tech giant surprised everyone by launching a 5G smartphone equipped with an advanced China-made processor, earning praise from state media and social media in the country. This achievement also sparked debates in Washington about whether the Biden administration has done enough to curb China's technological advancements.
According to a report by Xinhua News Agency, this network operates based on Chinese-owned technology.
Bloomberg reported that Nokia, one of Huawei’s global competitors, announced in February that it had achieved a speed of 1.2 terabits per second over a fiber-optic network in Europe, but only over a distance of approximately 118 kilometers.
