Chocolate Rice Pudding with Chocolate Coating

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon rice flour

  • 1½ tablespoons sugar

  • 1 tablespoon rose water

  • 20 grams butter

  • 1 glass French-style cup of milk

  • 1 tablespoon Nutella

  • 100 grams chocolate bar

  • 4 tablespoons vegetable oil

  • Chopped pistachios and almonds for decoration

Steps to Prepare Chocolate-Coated Rice Pudding:

If you want to make a more unique and attractive version of rice pudding, try preparing one with a chocolate coating. This dessert can be made in any mold of your choice. Follow these steps:

First, chop the chocolate bar into smaller pieces. Place the chocolate pieces in a glass bowl or small saucepan and melt them using indirect heat (the bain-marie method, by placing the bowl over steam or simmering water) until the chocolate becomes smooth and liquid.

Add about three tablespoons of vegetable oil to the melted chocolate and mix until it becomes completely smooth and glossy. Lightly grease the inside of a silicone mold with a little oil to prevent the pudding and chocolate from sticking.

Once the chocolate has fully melted and softened, pour it into the greased mold. Rotate and shake the mold so that all inner surfaces are evenly covered with melted chocolate. Then spread the Nutella on the bottom of the mold using the back of a spoon. Place the mold in the freezer until the chocolate becomes completely firm and takes the shape of the mold.

While the chocolate layer is setting in the freezer, sift the rice flour into a saucepan and add the milk. Stir well until there are no lumps. Place the saucepan over low heat. Once the milk becomes warm, add the sugar and stir until the sugar dissolves. Keep the heat very low during this process.

When the pudding starts to thicken, add the rose water and butter to enhance the flavor and create a smoother texture. Continue stirring until the pudding becomes creamy and thick, but not too firm.

Since rice pudding becomes thicker after cooling, the ideal consistency is similar to smooth yogurt. Remove the saucepan from the heat and allow the pudding to cool slightly.

Take the silicone mold out of the freezer. The chocolate layer around the mold should now be completely firm. Carefully pour the rice pudding into the mold and smooth the surface with the back of a spoon. Place the mold back in the refrigerator or freezer until the pudding sets completely.

Once the pudding has become firm, remove it from the mold and transfer the chocolate-coated rice pudding onto a serving plate. Gently peel away the silicone mold from the pudding and chocolate coating.

Decorate the dessert with toppings such as chopped pistachios and almonds, then serve.

Tip: Instead of plain rice pudding, you can also use saffron rice pudding or the chocolate rice pudding from the first recipe and prepare it with a chocolate coating.
