Saed News: A video showing the tearful mourning and grief of North Korean people can be seen.
According to SAEDNEWS, citing a news analysis source, North Korean state media announced that individuals who did not attend or did not show mourning during the funeral ceremonies of the former leader of North Korea would be punished.
The North Korean regime reportedly identified, arrested, and punished people who did not mourn the death of former leader Kim Jong-il, imposing a penalty of six months of forced labor. An online newspaper called Daily NK published names of individuals allegedly responsible for identifying such people.
The report also stated that those who intentionally did not attend the funeral created the impression that Kim Jong-il’s death was not significant, and therefore were sentenced to forced labor.
Additionally, individuals who criticized the power transition in North Korea also faced similar punishment. In some cases, entire families of the accused were sent to labor camps.
After Kim Jong-il’s death, his youngest son Kim Jong-un became the new leader of North Korea. Kim Jong-il died on December 17 at the age of 69 due to a heart attack.
