SAEDNEWS: The Navy of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued an important statement in response to recent movements aimed at changing vessel traffic routes in the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the political service of the Saed News Agency website, following the unilateral and uncoordinated announcement of new routes for commercial and military vessel traffic in the strategic Strait of Hormuz by unidentified authorities, the naval forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps issued a formal and firm warning regarding the consequences of this action.
The statement emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran, as the primary guardian of security in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, considers the designation of new, uncoordinated shipping routes to be completely unacceptable and highly dangerous. It further stated that Iran will not permit any provocative action or violation of maritime sovereignty in this international waterway.
The IRGC Navy command, highlighting the high-security sensitivity of the region, warned all passing vessels and ships that the only authorized and safe navigation routes in the Strait of Hormuz are the official corridors previously announced by the Islamic Republic of Iran. According to this directive, any deviation from standard routes and movement outside permitted zones will be considered a clear violation and may pose serious risks to vessels. Shipping companies and naval fleets are therefore strictly urged to avoid entering any unannounced routes.
In the final section of the statement, strong emphasis was placed on the necessity of strict adherence to maritime communication and safety protocols. Accordingly, maintaining full coordination and communication with IRGC naval patrol units via marine radio channel 16 is considered an absolute and non-negotiable requirement for all vessels entering or exiting the Strait of Hormuz.
Iranian military officials stated that maritime movements are being continuously monitored around the clock using the most advanced equipment, and forces stationed in the region will respond firmly and without tolerance to any violation, disorder, or disregard for the navigation rules announced by the Islamic Republic of Iran.
