According to SAEDNEWS, citing its political desk, on Sunday, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif posted a message on the social platform “X,” expressing appreciation for Donald Trump’s peace efforts. Referring to a constructive phone call by the U.S. president with the leaders of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey, Egypt, the UAE, Jordan, and Pakistan, he praised Field Marshal Asim Munir (Islamabad’s representative in these consultations). Sharif emphasized that these talks have created a suitable framework for reviewing regional developments and advancing sustainable peace, and that Pakistan hopes to host the next round of negotiations in the near future.

On the other hand, Donald Trump also announced on Saturday night via his social network (Truth Social) a successful phone call from the White House with senior officials of Middle Eastern countries and the commander of Pakistan’s army. Trump described the focus of these talks as “issues related to Iran and a peace memorandum.”

According to the U.S. president, negotiations between Washington, Tehran, and other regional countries have made significant progress and are close to finalization. Trump, who also reported a positive conversation with Benjamin Netanyahu, emphasized that the final details of the agreement will soon be made public, and that reopening the Strait of Hormuz is expected to be one of its key provisions.
