SAEDNEWS: Iran’s proposals to the United States include guarantees against renewed attacks on Iran, an end to regional conflicts, the establishment of a secure passage protocol through the Strait of Hormuz, sanctions relief, and reconstruction efforts.

What Were the 10 Points of Iran’s Response to the U.S.?

According to Saed News’ political service, citing Fararu, Reuters, and The New York Times, details of a 10-point proposal from Iran to the United States have been released. The proposal was transmitted via Pakistan.

On Monday, Iran announced that it seeks a permanent end to the war with the U.S. and Israel, resisting pressure to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump warned that if Iran did not reach an agreement by Tuesday night’s deadline, the country could “be eliminated.”

In response to the U.S. proposal, which had been mediated through Pakistan, Tehran rejected a temporary ceasefire, stressing that a permanent end to hostilities is essential, according to Iran’s official news agency.

Key Points of Iran’s Proposal

The 10-point Iranian response reportedly includes ending regional conflicts, establishing a secure passage protocol for the Strait of Hormuz, lifting sanctions, and supporting reconstruction efforts.

According to The New York Times, two Iranian officials stated that the proposal also guarantees no further attacks on Iran, ends Israeli strikes on Hezbollah in Lebanon, and calls for the removal of all sanctions. In exchange, Iran would lift its practical blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.

Under the plan, Iran would receive approximately $2 million for each ship passing through the strait, with revenue shared with Oman on the opposite side. Iran intends to use its share to rebuild infrastructure damaged in U.S. and Israeli attacks.

U.S. Reaction

Trump, who had previously threatened to unleash “hell” on Tehran if no deal was reached by 8 p.m. Eastern Time (midnight GMT), rejected Iran’s response, calling the deadline final.

At a press conference, he warned that Iran could be “eliminated in one night,” adding, “that night could be as soon as tomorrow night,” referring to Tuesday. He also promised to destroy Iran’s power plants and bridges, disregarding concerns that such actions could be considered war crimes or alienate Iran’s 93 million citizens.

Meanwhile, rising fuel prices in the U.S. are increasing domestic political pressures.
