Shif Island (in English) is also known by many as Sheikh Saad. Situated next to the Helleh Wetland, this island boasts its own unique beauty. Its close proximity to the sea and stunning views have made Shif Island one of the top attractions in Bushehr.

Introducing Shif Island, Bushehr
Shif Island is known as the most beautiful island in Bushehr. It lies at the end of the Helleh Wetland, formed by the merging waters of the Shapur and Dalaki rivers. The island spans 33.6 square kilometers, and according to the 2016 census, the village on Shif Island had a population of around 3,900 people across 800 households.

Shif Island is divided into two neighborhoods: Hayareh in the east and Awasi in the west, separated by a small waterway. The people of the island speak Arabic with a distinctive accent, which is one of its cultural attractions.

Most of the island’s residents work as fishermen, and this economic activity remains the main source of livelihood. Shif’s proximity to the city of Bushehr and its natural beauty have made it one of the most captivating islands in the province, drawing many tourists.

Where is Shif Island?
