Iran Responds to UK Actions by Designating MI6, Royal Navy and RAF as Terrorist Organisations

According to Saednews, In a statement issued on Sunday, November 1, Iran’s Foreign Ministry condemned the British government’s policies and actions against Iran, describing them as contrary to the principles of the United Nations Charter and international law, particularly respect for national sovereignty and the prohibition of unlawful measures against other countries.

The ministry also reaffirmed Iran’s determination to take all necessary steps to protect its national security and interests.

According to the statement, the measures are a response to Britain's actions against Iran over the past year, including its alleged involvement in the US-Israeli war against Iran through the provision of military bases, facilities and logistical support. The ministry also cited Britain's decision on July 13, 2026, to place the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) under the State Threats Act 2026.

The ministry stated that the measures were adopted pursuant to a resolution by Iran’s Supreme National Security Council and were aimed at safeguarding the country's national security and interests.

Under the measures, which took effect upon the publication of the statement on November 1, Britain's Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) has been designated a "hostile group" under Note 2 of Article 1 of Iran's law on increasing penalties for espionage and cooperation with the Zionist regime and hostile countries against national security and interests.

The statement further announced that the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force would fall under Iran's law on reciprocal measures in response to the United States' designation of the IRGC as a terrorist organization. Accordingly, both British military branches would be recognized as terrorist organizations under Iranian law.

The Foreign Ministry emphasized that the measures had been adopted in accordance with international law and the principle of reciprocity, holding the British government responsible for any consequences arising from their implementation.
