Saed News: The MSCHF design studio, known for its viral and unconventional creations, has unveiled a handbag so tiny that you need a magnifying glass to see it!
According to Saed News, luxury brand Louis Vuitton recently revealed its microscopic handbag, a groundbreaking creation in the world of high fashion.
Louis Vuitton’s Microscopic Handbag
The MSCHF art collective has introduced a Louis Vuitton mini handbag that is “smaller than a grain of salt” as a critique of luxury fashion.
This bag, described by the group as “the ultimate statement in handbag miniaturization”, measures just 657 micrometers in height and 700 micrometers in length.
Made from neon green photopolymer resin, the microscopic handbag was 3D-printed using technology typically used in biotechnology manufacturing.
While the general shape of the bag is visible to the naked eye, its details can only be seen under a microscope. Despite its size, the miniature model includes a handle, the Louis Vuitton logo, and the brand’s signature monogram pattern.
A Commentary on Luxury Fashion
MSCHF stated:
“There are big handbags, regular handbags, and small handbags.”
The MSCHF Microscopic Handbag, smaller than a grain of salt, was created through a stereolithography process, commonly used for constructing microscopic mechanical structures in biotechnology.
The F-model bag serves as a critique of luxury fashion and the purpose of miniature handbags.
The collective explained:
“As an object that was once functional becomes smaller and smaller, its identity shifts from being a usable item to a mere brand symbol.”
They further elaborated:
“Previous small leather handbags still required a hand to carry them—these bags become impractical and create inconvenience for the ‘wearer’.”
“The Microscopic Handbag takes this concept to its logical extreme. It becomes a mere accessory, stripping away any functional purpose. In the realm of luxury objects, usability is merely an afterthought.”
A Unique Auction Piece
The handbag will be showcased in Paris, placed inside a sealed gel container under a microscope, alongside a magnified image displayed on a screen. It will then be put up for online auction at Just Phriends at the end of the month.
The Just Phriends auction is part of Joopiter, a platform launched last year by Pharrell Williams, the American musician and producer who was recently appointed as the head of Louis Vuitton’s menswear division.
