The construction of the Crystal Mosque was commissioned by Mizan Zainal Abidin, who was the Sultan of Terengganu at the time. Construction began in 2006 and continued until 2008. The mosque was officially opened to the public during a ceremony on November 8, 2008.
The Crystal Mosque is famous for its distinctive glass-and-steel design and is considered one of the most impressive mosques in Southeast Asia. The mosque features four minarets and nine domes, giving it a unique and elegant appearance.
