SAEDNEWS: The spokesman of the Yemeni armed forces said that the Yemeni army targeted a ship in the Gulf of Aden for the violation of the rules prohibiting entry to the ports of occupied Palestine by the company that owns it.
According to SAEDNEWS, The Yemeni army has confirmed that it targeted a ship in the Gulf of Aden due to violations related to the entry into ports in occupied Palestine by the company that owns the vessel.
Yahya Saree, the spokesman for the Yemeni armed forces, announced the operation on Saturday. He stated that, "We carried out a military operation against the GROTON ship in the Gulf of Aden due to the violation of the law prohibiting entry to the ports of occupied Palestine by the company that owns it."
Saree explained that "navy, missile and drone forces took part in the operation. The ship was targeted in an accurate and direct operation."
This was not the first time the GROTON was under fire; it was previously targeted on August 3rd. According to the Yemeni Armed Forces, this marks the second attack on the ship.
The Yemeni military has vowed to continue its operations until the ongoing Israeli ground and aerial assaults in Gaza cease. The conflict has escalated since Israel began a military campaign in Gaza on October 7, 2023, following a surprise attack by Palestinian resistance groups in response to years of escalating violence against Palestinians.
Israel has enforced a near-total blockade on Gaza, severely restricting the flow of food, medicine, electricity, and water into the region. So far, the conflict has resulted in the deaths of over 40,000 Gazans, with the majority being women, children, and adolescents.
