SAEDNEWS: The criminal regime of Israel has once again carried out several strikes on Lebanese soil.
According to SAEDNEWS,
TEHRAN, Aug. 27 (MNA) – Israel has carried out a series of extensive strikes on Lebanese territory, intensifying its military operations in the region. On Monday night, the Israeli military targeted southern Lebanon, specifically hitting areas such as Ad-Dahira, Tayr Harfa, and Umm al-Tut.
Local sources reported multiple bombardments, highlighting the escalating conflict. This follows a significant statement from the Lebanese Resistance Movement, Hezbollah, which revealed earlier that day that its forces had engaged Israeli positions with rockets and drones. This action was framed as support for the Palestinian people in Gaza and as a direct response to ongoing Israeli attacks on Lebanese villages.
In a related incident, Hezbollah launched a substantial offensive on Sunday, targeting 11 Israeli military bases with over 320 missiles. This was described by the group as a successful operation, particularly in retaliation for the Israeli assassination of Fuad Shukr. Hezbollah stated that the first phase of their operation had concluded successfully, with a focus on attacking Israeli barracks and military centers.
These military actions are part of a broader pattern, as Hezbollah has been increasingly active against Israeli military positions since early October last year, particularly in light of Israel's military campaigns in Gaza and southern Lebanon. The conflict escalated significantly after Hamas conducted an unprecedented operation against Israel on October 7, which led to Israel's declaration of a severe military operation and a complete siege of Gaza. The siege has had dire humanitarian consequences, cutting off essential resources such as fuel, electricity, food, and water to the more than two million Palestinians residing in the territory.
Details of further military operations from Hezbollah are expected to be disclosed in upcoming statements. The situation remains tense as both sides continue their military engagements, reflecting an ongoing cycle of violence in the region.
