SAEDNEWS: Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf dismissed Donald Trump's remarks as "projection," citing claims that 40 million Americans rely on food assistance and emphasizing that Iran alone decides the fate of its national assets.
According to Saed News political desk, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, responded in an English statement posted on his account on the social media platform X to remarks made by Donald Trump against the Iranian people.

He wrote:
“Imagine more than forty million of your own citizens depending on food coupons (the government’s food assistance program), and at the same time calling another country ‘hungry.’”
Ghalibaf also stated that this claim is not a simple remark or accusation, but rather a form of projection—attributing one’s own problems to others. He added that advice and commentary about the SNAP program (the U.S. food assistance program) should be kept for domestic issues.
He further emphasized:
“We make our own decisions about our assets. You should focus on the issue of malnutrition rates in your own country.”
Trump has referred to our people as hungry, while 40 million Americans rely on food assistance and food coupons. In your opinion, why do U.S. officials, instead of addressing homelessness, malnutrition, and poverty within their own country, constantly focus on Iran-related affairs?
