SAEDNEWS: Man Whose Series of Marriages Has Gone Viral on Social Media Prepares for His 88th Wedding
According to Saednews, A 61-year-old farmer from Indonesia has gone viral on social media after it was revealed that he is preparing for his 88th marriage.
The man, identified as Kang, is a rice farmer from West Java, Indonesia, with a highly unusual life story. He claims that he has been married 87 times in total throughout his life and is now getting ready to marry for the 88th time—this time with one of his former wives.
He first gained public attention after sharing his story with a YouTuber, whose video quickly spread online. The unusual claim attracted widespread media attention, and journalists eventually tracked him down to his home in the village of Cipeundeuy. Although he initially refused further interviews, repeated visits from reporters eventually changed his mind.
Kang says he first married at the age of 14 to a girl two years older than him. That marriage lasted only two years, but it did not stop him from continuing to marry again and again over the years.
Out of his 87 marriages, only 40 were officially registered, while the rest were traditional or informal ceremonies. He also claims that he did not always formally divorce his previous wives before remarrying. As a result, at certain points in his life, he was simultaneously married to two or more women.
His longest marriage lasted 14 years, while many others were extremely short—some lasting only one or two months, and one reportedly lasting just a week.
Although he has married 87 times, he has been married to only 46 different women, as he remarried some of them multiple times. His upcoming 88th wedding will reportedly be with a former wife from his 86th marriage.
Speaking about remarrying one of his ex-wives, Kang said, “Even though a long time has passed since our separation, our love is still strong.”
He added that their previous marriage lasted only four months, but he hopes this time they will stay together longer.
