SAEDNEWS: Pakistan’s Interior Minister has arrived in Tehran on a special mission to deliver a confidential message from his country’s leadership to Iran’s Supreme Leader, signaling a possible mediation effort to ease tensions between Iran and the United States.
According to Saed News Agency's political desk, on the evening of June 6, Tehran welcomed a special guest from a neighboring country. Pakistan's Interior Minister, Syed Mohsin Naqvi, was warmly received upon arrival by Iran's Interior Minister, Eskandar Momeni, for discussions on a range of important issues.
During the meeting, both sides agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation and work toward increasing annual trade between the two countries from $3 billion to $10 billion. In addition to economic matters, the ministers discussed border security, counter-narcotics efforts, and cooperation against terrorism.
However, the primary purpose of the visit was reportedly Pakistan's effort to help ease tensions between Iran and the United States. Iran's Interior Minister expressed appreciation for Pakistan's constructive role in reducing regional tensions. In response, the Pakistani minister emphasized that Iran's concerns are also Pakistan's concerns and revealed an important diplomatic mission.
Naqvi announced that he had brought a highly significant letter addressed to Iran's Supreme Leader on behalf of Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff and Prime Minister. The message, he suggested, could help address the current sensitive situation and contribute to restoring stability in the region.
