Mushrooms: 250 g
Medium carrots: 2
Onion: 1
Garlic: 2 cloves
Salt, black pepper, turmeric: as needed
Milk: ¼ cup
Oil: as needed
French fries: 1 bowl
First, cut the chicken breast into small cubes and set aside.
Peel and finely chop the onion, then sauté it in a pan with some oil until soft and translucent.
Add grated garlic and after 30 seconds, add the chopped chicken.
Season with turmeric, salt, and pepper and sauté for 1–2 minutes.
Peel the carrots and cut them into thin strips.
Add the carrots to the pan and stir.
Finally, add sliced mushrooms.
Cover the pan, reduce the heat, and let it cook for 30 minutes so the chicken and carrots cook in the mushroom juice and become tender.
Then add milk, stir, and let it cook for another 10 minutes. Remove from heat and serve.
Top with fried potatoes and serve. Enjoy!
Instead of French fries, you can use plain chips or julienned potatoes. Cubed fried potatoes are recommended for better presentation.
Mushrooms are nutritious and rich in protein, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, fiber, copper, iron, and antioxidants. They may help prevent breast and prostate cancer and strengthen the immune system. When buying mushrooms, note that fresh mushrooms are not always pure white and shiny.
A healthy mushroom should feel relatively heavy. Light and hollow mushrooms are usually not fresh. The cap should not have cracks, and mushrooms with brown spots are better avoided unless fully cooked. For this recipe, small button mushrooms are recommended.
