Onion

1 medium

Tomato paste

1 tablespoon

Sour pomegranate paste

1 tablespoon

Chopped parsley

1/3 cup

Butter

as needed

Tomatoes

2 medium

Potatoes

2 medium

Rice

4 cups

Salt, black pepper, turmeric, garlic powder, paprika

as needed

Instructions

1. Preparing the mixture

Wash and peel the onion, then finely grate it. Wash and chop the parsley finely. Slice the tomatoes into rings.

Mix the ground meat with grated onion and knead well. Add salt, black pepper, turmeric, garlic powder, and paprika, then mix thoroughly. Add the chopped parsley and knead again until all flavors are evenly combined.

2. Preparing the sauce

Heat a small amount of oil in a pan over low heat. Add tomato paste and sour pomegranate paste and sauté lightly until the color deepens and the mixture is well blended. Be careful not to burn the pomegranate paste. Set aside.

3. Cooking the kebab

Place the meat mixture in a pan and flatten it evenly. Add some oil and butter on top. Cover and cook over low heat for about 20 minutes until the meat is fully cooked.

Then place tomato slices on top of the meat and pour the prepared sauce over it. Cover again and let it cook until the tomatoes soften and the flavors combine well.

4. Preparing the rice

Wash and soak the rice with a little salt. Add water so it covers the rice by about one finger’s height. Cook on medium heat with a bit of oil and butter until the water is absorbed. Shape the rice into a mound, cover with a lid and allow it to steam on low heat until fully cooked.

5. Serving

Peel and slice the potatoes, then fry them in oil with a little salt until golden. Serve the kebab over the rice, alongside fried potatoes and the tomato sauce. Enjoy your meal!
