SAEDNEWS: The President of the United States stated in remarks that, starting Monday morning, an operation—described by him as humanitarian—will commence to facilitate the departure of ships currently stranded in the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the political desk of Saed News, citing Fars, U.S. President Donald Trump stated in a new post on the social media platform Truth Social: “Countries from around the world—almost none of which are involved in the Middle East conflicts that are clearly and violently unfolding before everyone’s eyes—have asked the United States whether we can help free their ships stranded in the Strait of Hormuz; ships caught up in an issue that has absolutely nothing to do with them—they are merely neutral and innocent observers.
For the benefit of Iran, the Middle East, and the United States, we have told these countries that we will safely guide their ships out of these restricted waterways so they can freely and effectively continue their business.”
He further claimed, “I repeat, these are ships from regions of the world that have no involvement whatsoever in the current events in the Middle East. I have instructed my representatives to inform them that we will make our utmost effort to safely escort their vessels and crews out of the Strait (of Hormuz). In all cases, they have said they will not return until the region is safe for shipping and other activities.”
Trump went on to assert that this process, called “Project Freedom,” will begin Monday morning Middle East time. “I am fully aware that my representatives are engaged in very positive talks with Iran, and these discussions could lead to highly positive outcomes for الجمیع. The movement of these ships is solely intended to free individuals, companies, and countries that have committed absolutely no wrongdoing—they have become victims of circumstances.”
He added, “This is a humanitarian effort by the United States, Middle Eastern countries, and especially Iran. Food supplies and other essential provisions needed to maintain the health and well-being of the large crews on many of these ships are running low. I believe this could be a major step toward demonstrating goodwill by all those who have been engaged in intense conflict over the past months.”
In conclusion, he warned, “If there is any interference in this humanitarian process, it will unfortunately have to be dealt with decisively.”
It appears that this is the same failed U.S. military plan to escort commercial ships, now rebranded with a humanitarian label. Trump had intended from the very first day of the Strait of Hormuz closure to escort commercial vessels, but the effort failed due to an inability to execute it.
Some analysts believe this move is an attempt by Trump to reduce international pressure caused by disruptions in global supply chains and energy flows.
