SAEDNEWS: Al Mayadeen Network, citing its sources, reported that Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, traveled to Tehran on Saturday night to meet with several officials from our country.

According to the political desk of Saed News, Al-Mayadeen reported that official details of the visit have not yet been released, but Qatar is recognized as one of the main mediators between Iran and the United States, especially amid recent tensions.

Ismail Baghai, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, also responded to an ISNA reporter’s question regarding reports on the Qatari foreign minister’s trip to Tehran, stating: Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar, met today in Tehran with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi and Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani.

According to the Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson, the meeting continued ongoing efforts and consultations among regional countries on regional developments, and aimed at exchanging views on preserving peace and stability in the region.

In a statement, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani met with Ali Larijani during his visit to Tehran. The statement added: “The two sides reviewed ongoing efforts to reduce tensions in the region.”
