SAEDNEWS: Many users have reported dissatisfaction with the iPhone 16 Pro's touchscreen performance. But why has this issue arisen, and what is the exact cause? Stay with us to find out.
According to SaedNews, as reported by Gadget News, many iPhone 16 Pro users have reported that their touchscreen sometimes doesn't work. This issue typically occurs during scrolling, pressing buttons, and typing on the virtual keyboard.
After thorough investigations, it has been determined that this issue in the latest generation of iPhones is a software bug in the iOS operating system. It appears that the random touch detection algorithm in this system is overly sensitive and mistakenly considers multiple consecutive touches as random touches.
This problem usually occurs when the user unintentionally touches other parts of the screen. Reports indicate that this issue is most commonly observed around the camera controls, although it has been seen across the entire display.
When this issue arises, the phone's software temporarily ignores all new touches on the screen, causing intentional touches by the user not to register correctly. A user named Khaos Tian reported this problem on the social network Mastodon. Although this issue might present itself in milder forms under different conditions, it is believed that the iPhone 16 Pro's very narrow screen bezels exacerbate the problem. These narrow bezels make it easier for the user's hand to come into contact with the edges of the display, leading to unintentional touches that the screen sometimes fails to recognize.
One of the main reasons for this issue is the unintentional contact of the user's fingers with the very narrow screen bezels while holding the phone. This problem is particularly prevalent when the phone is used without a cover, increasing the likelihood of these contacts and disrupting touch functionality. Although using a cover can somewhat mitigate this issue, it does not completely resolve it.
This problem has recently been observed in iPhones running iOS 18 and the iOS 18.1 beta version. We expect Apple to address this issue with a software update.
Interestingly, this problem only occurs when the phone is unlocked and in use; it does not appear when the device is locked. Therefore, we conclude that the root cause of this issue is related to the phone's software, and a software bug is likely causing this malfunction.
