According to SaedNews: The Powerball jackpot grew to $1 billion for the Saturday, August 30 drawing after no ticket matched all six numbers in the previous Wednesday draw. Players who match all five white balls and the red Powerball can take the advertised annuity prize or opt for a one-time cash payout — $453.1 million in this drawing.
Any confirmed winners will be posted by lottery officials after state lotteries complete ticket checks and prize validation. If no jackpot winner is announced, the prize will continue to grow for the next drawing.
There have already been four Powerball jackpot winners this year:
Jan. 18: Oregon — $328.5 million
March 29: (Winner matched all six numbers) — $527 million
April 26: Kentucky — $167.3 million
May 31: California — $204.5 million
The next Powerball drawing is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 1, just after 11 p.m. ET (if no jackpot winner is confirmed on Aug. 30).
Ticket price: $2 per play.
