According to Saed News, these rare images—originally sourced from Parsine—capture Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, former President of Iran, and Ali Shamkhani, current Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, as young officials at the opening ceremony of the Velayat‑e Asr Gas Refinery (also known as Fajr Jam Kangan) in 1988.
According to Saed News, the photographs date back to 1988 (1367 AH SH), when Iran was rapidly expanding its energy infrastructure. Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, then a key figure in Iran’s post‑war reconstruction, is seen discussing refinery operations with Ali Shamkhani, who would later rise through Iran’s military and security ranks.
