SAEDNEWS: Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has warned that Iran has “identified all its targets” in the occupied territories for a retaliatory attack against Israel.
According to SAEDNEWS, In a recent interview with Turkish broadcaster NTV on Saturday, October 19, 2024, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi conveyed a serious message to Israel regarding potential retaliation plans. He stated that Iran has identified its targets in the occupied territories for a possible counterstrike.
“Any attack against Iran means crossing its red line. We will not leave it unanswered. A necessary response will be given to any attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities or a similar raid,” Araghchi declared. He emphasized, “Now, we have identified all our targets there (in the occupied lands) and a similar attack will be carried out on them.”
Araghchi referred to a missile attack Iran conducted on Israeli military and espionage bases on October 1, which he described as a response to ongoing violence by Israel. He claimed that 90 percent of Iranian missiles successfully hit their intended military targets, insisting that these actions were focused solely on military sites and did not harm civilians or economic areas.
This military operation, dubbed Operation True Promise II, is part of Iran's broader response to the conflict in the region. Since early October 2023, Israel's military operations have reportedly resulted in tragic casualties, including over 42,603 people in the Gaza Strip and 2,448 in Lebanon.
Addressing the assassination of resistance leaders like Yahya Sinwar, the head of Hamas, Araghchi mentioned that Sinwar’s death would not weaken Hamas but rather strengthen its resolve and unite Palestinian youth.
Araghchi also criticized the United States, claiming, “The regime cannot live and commit crimes in Gaza and Lebanon without Washington’s assistance.” He urged the U.S. to use its influence to help stop the violence, adding, “If the Americans had real political will, they would be able to halt the attacks and stop Israel.”
The Foreign Minister warned that a large-scale war in the region could potentially involve the United States as well. However, he expressed hope for diplomatic solutions, stating, “There is still a chance for diplomacy; we cannot leave everything to the will of one person in the Zionist regime.”
As tensions between Iran and Israel continue to rise, the international community is watching closely for any further developments in this increasingly precarious situation.
