SAEDNEWS: “I respect your voices, but we are here to now talk about this race in 2024,” Harris responds to protestors
According to SAEDNEWS, With the US presidential elections on the horizon, Vice President Kamala Harris and her newly appointed running mate, Tim Walz, held an energizing rally in Arizona on Friday. Aiming to galvanize support in this crucial electoral battleground, Harris addressed an enthusiastic crowd of over 15,000 at the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, according to ABC News.
During her speech, Harris emphasized themes of unity and shared values, resonating with attendees like 65-year-old Phyllis Zeno from Maricopa, who expressed her appreciation for Harris’ focus on healthcare and reproductive rights. "Her message to me wasn’t just hope, but renewed faith in democracy, that we can do this," Zeno shared.
Jen Duran, a 37-year-old independent voter and mother, was equally impressed by Harris’ policies, particularly concerning child safety. “I have an elementary school daughter who has been going to this school since she was four, and today we got a notification that there was a lockdown drill,” Duran noted. “So, safety for our kids is really important.”
Harris also touched on her experience as a law enforcement official, asserting, “I prosecuted them in case after case, and I won,” while discussing her efforts against transnational gangs and drug cartels.
The rally, however, wasn’t without drama. Gaza protestors interrupted Harris’s speech, prompting her to pause and address the disruption. "Hold on a second," she said, before reiterating her stance on the current conflict, stating the importance of securing a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas to alleviate the suffering in Gaza. “I respect your voices, but we are here to now talk about this race in 2024,” Harris added, reinforcing her focus on the upcoming election.
Meanwhile, on the Republican side, former President Donald Trump held a rally in Montana in support of Senate candidate Tim Sheehy. Earlier that day, Trump’s plane was diverted due to a mechanical issue but landed safely in Billings as planned.
As the campaign heats up, both parties are working tirelessly to secure crucial support leading into the elections. Stay tuned for more updates on the 2024 presidential race!
