Ramona Falls, Oregon, United States
Nestled in the pristine wilderness of Mount Hood, Ramona Falls is a breathtaking natural attraction surrounded by an enchanting forest landscape. Mount Hood itself is famous for the legends associated with its name and rises prominently above the region near Portland.

Ramona Falls is located along the upper Sandy River, on the western side of Mount Hood, within a forest at an elevation of around 3,560 feet. The waterfall drops approximately 37 meters and creates a spectacular curtain of smaller cascades flowing over striking six-sided basalt columns. These distinctive rock formations were created by ancient lava flows.
The waterfall’s unusual structure and picturesque surroundings make it an especially captivating sight for photographers and nature lovers.

There are two different routes leading to Ramona Falls, and both offer beautiful views along the way. Many visitors come for a day trip, although those equipped for a longer stay can spend more time exploring the surrounding wilderness.
With its extraordinary scenery, distinctive geological formations, and magnificent waterfall, Ramona Falls has become one of Oregon’s well-known recreational destinations.

A visit here offers a wonderful combination of peaceful forest scenery and one of the region’s most visually impressive waterfalls.
