For this reason, it is generally regarded as an artificial lake.
Interestingly, although the water in Swan Lake is still rather than flowing, it remains remarkably clean and clear. On calm days, the surface beautifully reflects the surrounding trees and the sky, creating a picturesque landscape.
The natural beauty of Mazandaran and Ramsar extends far beyond a few well-known attractions. The area is filled with mountains, waterfalls, lakes, rivers, plains, and lush pastures that give the region its distinctive character. Among these attractions, Swan Lake is a popular destination for visitors to Mazandaran and Ramsar, appearing like a turquoise jewel surrounded by flowers, trees, and dense greenery.
As mentioned earlier, Swan Lake has been developed by the private sector. Visitors are therefore required to pay an entrance fee when visiting the area. The collected fee is used to provide recreational and visitor facilities, maintain the surroundings, clean the area, and remove waste.
To reach Swan Lake, first travel to Ramsar and continue through the city. After Ramsar, you will reach a junction known as Palestine Junction. From there, continue south and enter the road leading to Javaherdeh.
After traveling approximately 20 kilometers, you will see a sign for Swan Lake.
There is a small detail worth noting: the name on the sign may appear as “Gho” rather than “Ghoo” (Swan Lake). This is simply a spelling mistake and refers to the same destination.
The road leading to the lake was reportedly designed and constructed during the reign of Reza Shah. Today, the route itself is considered part of the scenic experience, offering beautiful views along the way.
Because Swan Lake is located relatively close to Ramsar, its climate is broadly similar to that of the city. However, the area surrounding the lake is cooler than Ramsar and experiences cold, harsh winters.
The weather around the lake is generally pleasant and refreshing, with less of the heavy humidity often associated with northern Iranian coastal cities.
Spring and summer are generally suitable seasons for visiting Swan Lake. Autumn is also particularly attractive, as the surrounding landscape takes on colorful seasonal shades and offers views that can be very different from those seen during the warmer months.
Before traveling, however, it is advisable to check the local weather conditions and road situation. Winters in the area can be extremely cold, although the snow-covered landscape can be spectacular. The road to Swan Lake may also become unsafe and difficult to navigate during winter.
One of the main recreational activities at Swan Lake is pedal boating. Visitors can rent pedal boats and travel toward the middle of the lake while enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. A small fee is charged for using the boats.

Despite its small size, Swan Lake Motel has attracted many travelers and tourists. There is also a suitable hotel facility in the surrounding area that provides accommodation and services for visitors to the region.
During the journey toward Swan Lake, travelers will come across several restaurants serving local cuisine.
One well-known option is Amo Rajab Restaurant, which has a good reputation in Javaherdeh. The restaurant is located along a side road leading toward Swan Lake.
Before reaching the lake, you will also find Salimi Restaurant and Akbar Joojeh on the route. These restaurants provide opportunities to try traditional Mazandarani dishes, including torsh kebab, baghala ghatogh, torshi tareh, and other flavorful local foods from northern Iran.
For travelers interested in experiencing authentic regional cuisine, trying these traditional dishes can be an enjoyable part of the journey.

In recent years, however, reduced rainfall has significantly decreased the amount of water flowing through the waterfall. Its appearance can therefore vary considerably depending on the season and recent weather conditions.
